San Diego Chargers linebacker Dwight Freeney would really like to sack Peyton Manning before one or the other retires and he’s hoping he’ll get a chance on Sunday.

Dwight Freeney spent most of his career playing on the same team as Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, playing 11 years with the Indianapolis Colts. The closest he got to lining up against Manning was in practice situations, but naturally Peyton was wearing the red jersey at the time.
Now, however, Freeney plays for the Broncos’ division rivals in the Chargers and has at least two chances per year to try and sack Manning. He acknowledges that time may be running out, regardless.
"“At some time, I’m going to have to get him,” Freeney said, via U-T San Diego. “If I retire, I’m going to have find a way to [get him from my] wheelchair.” (per Pro Football Talk)"
Freeney is 34 and probably not far from retirement. Manning himself could probably retire in the near future, but considering Freeney’s position, it’s a lot more likely the linebacker will go first. Freeney admits retirement has even been on his mind of late.
"“I’ve had people tell me about doing some type of TV stuff,” Freeney said. “I’m not against that. I’ve got to stay busy. I know me; I’m going to be itching to do something. Who knows? I might be on the other side of this thing.”"
One way or the other, Sunday’s game against the Broncos might be Freeney’s last chance to achieve his last career goal of sacking Peyton Manning.
