There are ugly Christmas sweater parties. But PGA Tour golfer Jason Dufner and his wife didn’t have one. They may have had a god-awful sports coat theme, however.
Golfer Jason Dufner donned a plaid sports coat for his family’s Christmas party.
His wife, Amanda, posted the evidence on Instagram:
Her choice, however, was something a little more … eye-catching.
The first thought when I saw the jacket was that it was the champion’s jacket from the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial … but then I realized that Dufner’s never won there.

He had his best finish of the 2014 season at the event in May, but lost a three-hole playoff to Adam Scott, who got the hideous stylish blazer for the victory.
It was a bold, if ill-advised, choice by Dufner. Perhaps he was trying to make sure anyone trying to check out his wife was blinded by the garishness of the red-and-blue tartan explosion he was wearing.
On her Instagram post, Amanda Dufner referred to it as the “Dufner Holiday Soiree 2014.”
The jacket actually, upon closer examination, looks as if it could have been made from two jackets merged into one.
That has me thinking “lost fantasy football bet.”
It beats having to recreate the “Chandelier” video for losing a bet.
