Tyson Chandler showed off his amazing defensive skills on Saturday, although it wasn’t on a basketball, rather it was on some footwear. 

Dallas Mavericks’ Tyson Chandler has been known for years for his defense; it’s part of how he made such a good name for himself in the NBA, and he put that on display again on Saturday against the Warriors.

However, it wasn’t against a basketball, like you would assume it would be.

No, Chandler show his amazing defensive reflexes on a shoe. Yes, a shoe.

In the play below you will see that the Warriors’ Marresse Speights happens to lose a shoe on a drive. As we all know, the game must go on, so teammate Steph Curry tosses the shoe to the bench.

Well when someone tried to toss the shoe back to Speights so he can put in back on quickly, well, Chandler said no way.


Okay now that was hilarious. You also have to wonder if the folks at Geico were watching, as Chandler might be a candidate to replace the famous Dikembe Mutombo block commercials in the near future.

Maybe he just can’t help it. Maybe blocking things is just in Chandler’s DNA.
