49ers linebacker Nick Moody was flagged for what definitely could be considered the worst roughing the passer call in the history of football.

Throughout the past few years referees in the NFL have taken a lot of flack for how eager they are to reach into that pocket and throw the yellow flag to benefit the quarterback at all costs. Well on Sunday in the Seahawks-49ers game, San Francisco linebacker Nick Moody may have been flagged for the worst roughing the passer call in the history of man.

Yes, this was downright terrible.

Moody was coming with the rush on Russell Wilson when he made what was a clear hit to the chest with his head up; you know, just like you’re taught since pee wee football.

Here, check out the hit below.

I honestly sat here for a few minutes and thought this was a joke. Literally, I thought Ed Hochuli was going to pick up the flag and say, “LOL, just kidding.”

But no, this flag was serious. In a sense, Moody was flagged for hitting the chest of a quarterback, which apparently is illegal in the NFL in this day and age.

Some calls are on the fence, but this one was just ridiculous.
