Mike Evans has been one of the best wide receivers in the NFL this year, and he is a rookie which makes his play even more impressive. He has done an excellent job of being the go-to receiver for veteran quarterback Josh McCown, and has become a touchdown machine as he has continued to gain more and more experience.
Today against the Carolina Panthers in a big division rivalry game, Evans came through with an eight-yard touchdown pass. Tampa Bay isn’t still in contention for the playoffs, but the Panthers are. Defeating them and knocking them farther away from the playoffs would be a very big win for the Buccaneers and their fan base.
Take a look at Evans’ touchdown reception for yourself:
Evans has an incredibly bright future in Tampa Bay, and McCown is finally beginning to look like the quarterback that they signed this offseason. It will be very intriguing to see what ends up happening throughout Evans’ career, but there is no question that he has the potential to become a top-five NFL receiver.
