For Sunday’s meeting with the Oakland Raiders, the Kansas City Chiefs honored columnist Bryan Burwell, who lost a battle with cancer earlier this month.

For an AFC West clash between the Kansas City Chiefs and Oakland Raiders in Week 15 of the NFL regular season, the Chiefs found a way to honor Bryan Burwell, a longtime columnist for the St. Louis Dispatch who lost a battle with cancer earlier this month.

The Chiefs placed Burwell’s name on a placard and left an empty seat in the press box in his honor.

Burwell was also honored on Thursday night, prior to the meeting between the St. Louis Rams and Arizona Cardinals.
