Long Pass To Houston’s DeAndre Hopkins Deeeee-NIED (Video)
By Phil Watson
The Houston Texans lost their quarterback, a game and any shot at an AFC South title, but at least wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins got up after a tough hit.
Rookie quarterback Tom Savage’s NFL experience had been limited to a couple of kneeldowns at the end of a blowout win.

But the Houston Texans had to turn to the kid from Rutgers Sunday after veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick went down with a broken leg in a 17-10 loss to the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium.
In the fourth quarter, with the Texans trailing by seven, Savage looked down the left sideline for wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and it looked good.
Until Indianapolis safety Sergio Brown arrived.
Hopkins had beaten cornerback Vontae Davis and the play looked like it would go for a huge gain before Brown arrived to separate Hopkins from the ball.
The Colts clinched their second straight AFC South title and their third straight playoff berth with their win, while Houston fell to 7-7—still a huge improvement over the 2-14 dumpster fire that was their 2013 season.
Savage was 10-for-19 for 127 yards and threw a late interception to Davis that sealed Houston’s fate, at least as far as the divisional race goes.
The Texans took Savage in the fourth round of the draft in May.
