The rumors have been swirling for a while, the NFL is returning to the Los Angeles market. But that has been all it is, rumors and speculation about which teams could be making the move.
The NFL owners were meeting in Dallas and the league confirmed that there were not one, but multiple teams interested in moving to Los Angeles.
From CBS Sports‘ Jason La Canfora:
"Eric Grubman, the NFL executive overseeing the LA initiative for the league, spoke during the meeting and acknowledged that there were multiple teams with the intent of moving to Los Angeles as soon as next season, and explained that there remained multiple options for when and where those teams might relocate within the LA region, sources said."
La Canfora goes on to name the St. Louis Rams and the Oakland Raiders, both teams have called Los Angeles home before.
Of course there are still hurdles, like building a new state of the art stadium, though we’ve already seen prospective plans and ideas. The Los Angeles area has venues capable of hosting NFL games while they sort out the stadium situation, like the Rose Bowl.
