The Sacramento Kings decided to fire their head coach, Michael Malone, and move on in a different direction. Superstar DeMarcus Cousins is by far their best player, but he found out that his head coach was being fired on Twitter. That seems a bit strange, but not every franchise informs their players of coaching changes.
Malone was being praised earlier this season for the way that the Kings started the year, but issues immediately become obviously over the last couple of weeks. Tyrone Corbin will take over as the Kings’ interim head coach until they find a more permanent option.
Cousins found out on Twitter. Asked about players' reaction, "I think this is the perfect weather for this situation." It's gray & rainy.

It does seem a bit too early for the Kings to be firing their head coach, especially after they got off to such a quick start. Malone has his players working and playing hard, and his system fit the roster very well. There are some good coaching candidates out there, but Malone seemed to be a perfect fit for them.
One name that has already been mentioned multiple times is former Denver Nuggets head coach George Karl. He would be a nice addition for them, and would work very well with the talent that the Kings have on their roster currently. Corbin also could step in and keep the job long-term.
There will be plenty of names that will pop up in rumors over the next few weeks, but the Kings aren’t going to settle for just anyone. They are looking for a big name that can help take them to a championship. Sacramento has plenty of talent on the roster, but they need to figure out how to put everything together.
