It seems as if Jon Gruden won’t be coaching anyone, anytime soon because he’ll be staying where he is in the broadcast booth.

Monday Night Football brought us some breaking news on Monday night during the game between the Chicago Bears and the New Orleans Saints. That news was that Jon Gruden isn’t moving from that booth anytime in the near future.

The bomb was dropped by his partner Mike Tirico during the broadcast on Monday night that Gruden has signed an extension with ESPN that will take him through the year 2021.

So all of you Tennessee Volunteers, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Michigan Wolverines, Oakland Raiders and just about any team who’s been wanting Gruden to coach their team fan, simmer down because he’s not coming.

In all seriousness, it’s long been rumored that Gruden is more than happy with the gig he has at ESPN, and has been for quite some time now. Gruden joined the Monday Night Football team back in 2009, replacing Tony Kornheiser, and he has been a staple of the weekly football event ever since.

The man may have the itch to coach again somewhere in his body, but the itch is bigger to bring you the Monday Night Football action every week.
