LSU head coach Les Miles has finally come out and addressed the Michigan coaching rumors and Ann Arbor faithful might not like the answer.
LSU Tigers head coach Les Miles has finally addressed the 800-pound elephant in the room of him potentially taking the vacant Michigan head coaching job, and despite reports recently that he is a candidate, he has come out and refuted that report.
According to NOLA.com, while speaking with reporters after practice on Monday, Miles did not directly address the rumors, but he made it clear to everyone that was in his presence at the time that he has no plans to go coach his alma mater.
"In a post-practice session with reporters, Miles declined to be quoted directly but made it clear he has is not seeking the job and has not been contacted personally, or through his agent, Dallas-based George Bass, formally or informally.Miles said he did not want rumors to draw attention away from his team’s preparation for Notree Dame, the Tigers’ opponent Dec. 30 in the Music City Bowl."
This is not the first time that Miles’ name has come up as a potential candidate. When Lloyd Carr left the post, Miles’ name was brought up. When Rich Rodriguez was unceremoniously shown the door, his name was brought up. And of course, when Brady Hoke was fired recently, all eyes turned to Baton Rouge.
Well, it seems for now that you can take your eyes elsewhere in regards to the next Michigan coach.
