Seattle Seahawks star cornerback Richard Sherman said that the team never felt out of control during their struggles this NFL season.

The Seattle Seahawks were able to knock off the San Francisco 49es on the road yesterday afternoon, and eliminated their bitter rivals from playoff contention. Now, they are back on track and are looking to make a run at a bye week in the NFL playoffs.

Needless to say, it’s a scary thing for opposing teams to see them back playing at a high level after the struggles that they have had this year. Whether it be following the Percy Harvin trade, or simply not looking like the same team from last year, they have turned things around and begun focusing on football again. Star cornerback Richard Sherman talked about the teams belief even through the struggles, and never feeling like they didn’t have control of their own destiny.

From SeattlePi.com:

"“We never felt like we were out of control of our own destiny. The media — and you guys — kind of panicked a little. … We’re just going to keep playing our game and keep chipping away, and that’s what we’ve done. We didn’t feel like we were that far away. It’s always a play here and there. This is game of inches, and sometimes you get those bounces and sometimes you don’t. We’ve been getting those bounces that last couple weeks.”"

There is no question that the Seahawks are one of the most talented teams in the NFL, and their defense alone will make them a dangerous opponent to face in the NFL playoffs. That being said, they have to continue playing the way that they currently are in order to get to where they want to be.

Seattle still has some issues on the offensive side of the football, but Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson have done a great job of powering through those issues. With the playoffs beginning to close in, now is the time to get hot and begin playing football. The Seahawks seem to be getting that message, and it could be the start of a major run at the right time.

It will be interesting to see what ends up happening next week against the Arizona Cardinals on the road. The Cardinals are banged up at the quarterback position, and it should be a fairly easy win for the Seahawks if they played like they did against San Francisco. Sherman is still extremely confident in his team, and they are beginning to taste blood in the water with just two weeks left in the season.
