Will Cam Newton Return In Week 16? Status Still Uncertain
By Josh Sanchez
Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton’s status remains up in the air as the team begins preparation for Week 16 against the Cleveland Browns.
Last week, Cam Newton was involved in a scary car accident that forced him to miss the Carolina Panthers’ Week 16 meeting with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Newton suffered two fractured transverse process in the accident which has his immediate status in question.
So should Panthers fans expect to see Cam Newton back in the lineup whenCarolina takes on the Cleveland Browns? It is still too early to say, according to Panthers head coach Ron Rivera.
“I’m not making any decisions until I get the opportunity to watch him on the football field, listen to what the trainers and doctors have to tell me, and then we will make our decision,” Rivera said, via the Associated Press. “But to make any judgment right now would be premature and would be a mistake.”
Earlier this year, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo suffered the same injury when he took a knee to the back. Romo missed only one game with the injury, so as long as Cam Newton’s pain tolerance will allow, he should be able to return in Week 16.
Of course, nothing will be official until the Panthers and Newton confirm.
