Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden slammed Robert Griffin III once in his NFL press conference.
The Washington Redskins have had ongoing drama between head coach Jay Gruden and quarterback Robert Griffin III this season. They have taken shots at each other using the media, and that is simply unacceptable for two professionals.

Gruden once again took a shot at Griffin now that he is back in the starting lineup. He was addressing this weeks game against the Philadelphia Eagles when he took the shot at Griffin, and it was a very obvious dig. There is no reason for a head coach to continue going after a young quarterback that is thought of as a potential franchise player if he can get his head back on straight.
Gruden says it's important to get a lead so griffin doesn't have to do a lot of dropback passing and defense reading.

That type of comment simply isn’t necessary at all, and it is an obvious low blow directed towards Griffin. He showed last week that he is capable of dropping back and making plays with his arm, but that must have been lost upon Gruden. This has become an absolute joke, and it is clear that Gruden has no understanding of how to be a professional.
It will be intriguing to see what the end to this drama ends up being. There have been rumors that the Redskins could look to either trade Griffin or fire Gruden. If all of this nonsense doesn’t end soon, Washington may not have a choice but to get rid of one of the two.
At this point in time it’s too early to give up on Griffin after the rookie season that he had. He has been dealing with injuries ever since then, and they need to work patiently with him to give him another chance. Griffin showed some of that potential last week, and the last thing that should happen is the head coach completely ruining the confidence that he might have built up with that solid performance.
