The Dallas Cowboys are sitting at 10-4 through 14 games on the season and are in the driver’s seat to win the NFC East crown. It is a position that no one expected the Cowboys to be in, coming into the season on the heels of three 8-8 seasons with no playoff berths and the departure of several key players.
Yet, here they are, currently pegged as the third seed in the NFC. The question becomes whether the Cowboys can do more than simply make the playoffs and actually advance and make a run. When Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones was asked about during an appearance on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas on Tuesday, he said exactly what you expected him to say.
“We have a team that’s good enough not only to be in the playoffs but, in my mind, advance in the playoffs,” Jones said, via ESPN Dallas. “Now that we know that, now that we’ve seen it evolve into that, I do want to see what it can do in the tournament. I’m pretty positive about how we’re playing and if we can continue to potentially get a little better – which I think that game in Philadelphia will make us better – and if we continue to have those types of experiences and minimize the health issues, the injury issues, then I’m not ready to say this is a good season no matter what.”
Looks like Jones is dreaming of those glory hole days again.
