Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler found just one reporter at his post-game press conference and left before the rest of the media could make it.
After a disastrous game on Monday Night Football against the New Orleans Saints, Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler showed up to the post-game press conference to find just one reporter.
Odd: Cutler arrived for postgame newser before local reporters did. I asked 3 questions, no others were asked, that was it. Can’t fault Jay.

So what exactly happened? The Chicago Tribune’s Rich Campbell tried to explain explained:
"Cutler usually hosts his postgame press conference after coach Marc Trestman, but he arrived at the podium first on Monday. It was sparsely attended because most reporters were interviewing players in the locker room."
"A Bears public relations official informed reporters in the locker room that Cutler was at the podium. The announcement prompted more a dozen reporters to hurry out the locker room, with several even jogging to press conference area, which is about 200 feet away."

Cutler was seemingly caught of guard and perhaps a bit relieved to not face the firing squad. In the video below you can see part of an exchange with Bears media relations manager Jim Christman who informed Cutler that the media was on their way.
Cutler asked if “we’re going to wait for them” and seeing his window of opportunity, left before they could arrive after answering three questions.
Which is interesting that Cutler could answer three questions before a herd of reporters could jog 200 feet. The other interesting aspect of this is the players who were in the middle of being interviewed, only to have the reporters run out on them abruptly to try and get to Cutler instead.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this. Remember this gem from New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning?
