The San Diego Padres are really looking to shake thing up on their lackluster roster with recent acquisitions of Matt Kemp, but now the word is that General Manager A.J. Roller is looking to add even more talent to his outfield.
As of right now it is mainly speculation but the deal would see the Padres sending a good number of their best prospects in a package for Myers. Myers posted a .222 batting average while adding 6 homerun, 6 stolen bases and 35 RBIs.
Reports are starting to indicate though that the San Diego Padres are discussing a huge trade that would send the 24-year-old budding star Wil Myers to the Padres from Tampa Bay.
Certainly Wil Myers did a bit of regressing after winning the American League Rookie of the Year Award two seasons ago. Myers remains under contract through the 2019 season and does not have the right to salary arbitration for 2 more years. Maybe all Myers needs is a change of scenery to get back to his rookie season form and it looks like the Padres are willing to give him that chance as they are willing to send some of the franchise’s best future pieces in a reportedly significant package for the underwhelming Myers.
