Bo Pelini didn’t take long to rip into his former employer at the University of Nebraska. During his introductory press conference at Youngstown State Wednesday, Pelini stated he was happy to be somewhere where they understood NCAA football. Ouch.
Pelini said he was happy to have an athletic director in Jim Tressel who understands the game of football, inferring that his former school does not. I’m not so sure that is the case but certainly Pelini didn’t not hold back his feelings.
Pelini calls Jim Tressel “a president who understands football, who's going to support me, something I don’t know if I've ever had.” Zing!

So Pelini feels like he never had any support at Nebraska? For as long as he stuck around, I’m surprised he felt that way. Some Nebraska alumni and fans were calling for his early ouster, mainly because of his relations with him and the community.
Pelini was viewed as not a nice guy. He put off a lot of people in Lincoln. The school stuck by him because of his on the field record. You have to wonder at 9-3 why this was the breaking point for Nebraska but certainly it had in some part to do with his personality and doing everything it takes to win a conference championship.
Of course some people read right through him on Wednesday in his introduction.
@BoPelini glad to see you took the high road. Way to be a role model for young people as to how to express feelings openly with no filter.

After reading quotes, I don't think Bo Pelini will ever understand the support he swears he never got at Nebraska.
