The Boston Celtics have been rumored to be trading Rajon Rondo basically since he got there, but in the final year of his contract the talks have gotten serious very early on in the season.
You’d think that Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo wasn’t a good player based on his game always coming up in trade rumors each season. He’s still an All-Star talent that a franchise can build around, but the Celtics seem to be as serious as ever about trading him to a new team at this point in his career.

It seemed ridiculous a few years ago when Russell Westbrook for Rajon Rondo trade rumors popped up but now the only ridiculous part about that is that the Thunder would trade Westbrook. Rondo is as tradeable as he’s ever been and Boston seems to be ready to take full advantage of that.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski and Marc J. Spears, the Celtics have engaged in ‘serious’ talks with teams in the Western Conference about a Rajon Rondo trade. The talks haven’t graduated to an imminent stage yet, but the talks are indeed taking place.
"Boston has been engaged in discussions described as “serious” in recent days, but no trade agreement is imminent. Boston’s asking price for Rondo remains “pretty high, probably higher than most want to pay,” one league official told Yahoo."
The teams in the Western Conference who could possibly land Rondo range from the Suns to the Kings and even the Lakers. This also doesn’t rule out an Eastern Conference team like the Heat, Hawks or Knicks from getting in on trade talks for Rondo. If talks are indeed centered out West though, the Celtics will likely find a better deal with richer players, but no deal looks like it’s going to happen anytime soon.
