Boxing’s biggest fight may actually be in the works, as Floyd Mayweather says he’s ready to fight Manny Pacquiao
In an interview with Ben Thompson of FightHype.com, Floyd “Money” Mayweather opened up on the possibility of fighting Manny Pacquiao and said the time for the fight is now.
While also speaking about promoter Bob Aram, Mayweather gave May 2 as a possible date for the fight, but also mentioned he didn’t know if any of the past holdups could cause that date to push the fight back or stop the fight from happening at all.
The interview aired a day after Pacquiao tweeted this jab at Mayweather on Tuesday:
Who knows if this fight will actually happen? It seems like each side is ready to make it happen, but that could also just be more taunting and posturing than anything.
Both, Maywaether and Pacquiao are basically pointing fingers at each other, claiming it’s the other’s fault the fight hasn’t happened. If they are both speaking truthfully and want the fight, May 2 sounds like as good of a day as any to make it happen.
Barring any major holdups, which happen all the time in boxing, I think there’s a good possibility we finally get to see the fight we’ve all been waiting for years.
