The Michigan Wolverines need to replace Brady Hoke sooner rather than later and seem ready to make a huge run at Jim Harbaugh.
Even before the Michigan Wolverines fired head coach Brady Hoke this month, the team was already rumored to be eying some NFL talent to replace him. The San Francisco 49ers very conveniently were in a feud with Jim Harbaugh, which made attaching his name to the Michigan job a pretty easy thing to do.

The rumors have not gone away over the weeks since Hoke was fired, and despite Harbaugh dismissing the rumors when asked, folks just can’t stop talking about the idea of him coaching the Wolverines. In fact, the hype is so intense that Michigan has apparently already bought into the idea of hiring Harbaugh with some serious coin.
According to CBS reporter Joe Pequeno, the Wolverines are set to offer Harbaugh $49 million over the next sic years to become the new head coach of the football team.
This is just a rumor at the most, as it’s about as second and third hand as it gets. But given how badly the Wolverines want Harbaugh and how sought after he will be if he hits the coaching market after the NFL season, it’s not hard to see this being a realistic figure.
It’s also just a report that the offer will be made, not that Harbaugh is in any way considering it. Then again, an average salary of $8.1 million is going to be hard to secure in the NFL and may end up just setting Harbaugh’s price for a team like the Oakland Raiders or Miami Dolphins to come in above with a better offer.
