Boston Celtics Trade Rajon Rondo To Dallas Mavericks
By Mike Dyce
The Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks agree to a trade for point guard Rajon Rondo.
The Boston Celtics and the Dallas Mavericks were nearing a deal for point guard Rajon Rondo. One was expected later in the night but the deal seemingly got done earlier in the day according to reports from Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski and ESPN’s Marc Stein.
The Mavericks will get Rondo, and the Celtics will get a combination of players and draft picks. Specifically, he Mavericks will send Brandan Wright, Jae Crowder, Jameer Nelson, one future first-round and one future second-round draft pick to the Celtics.
The risk with trading for Rondo is that he could walk away after the season in free agency. The Mavericks have gotten assurances that Rondo would sign an extension to say in Dallas this summer, lowering the risk and easing those fears.
