The college football world was turned upside down on Wednesday with the report that the Michigan Wolverines want Jim Harbaugh to be their head coach so badly that they put on offer on the table that would pay him in the area of $8 million per year, making him the highest paid coach in college football.
Since then there have been other reports from people in the NFL world such as Adam Schefter that have confirmed Harbaugh is now considering the move back to college, which seems like a no-brainer after hearing about the deal.
On Thursday the media was finally able to get a hold of Harbaugh to try and get his thoughts on the matter, and as you would expect, he’s keeping tight-lipped on the matter.
While the 49ers are out of the playoff hunt and Harbaugh’s days with the team are now numbered, out of respect for his squad he won’t address the issue with Michigan that’s on the table.
However, they have to ask anyway. We’ll get more clarification soon as the NFL season is coming to a close.
