Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher could be a much richer man by the time he and his team head into the Rose Bowl.
The Florida State Seminoles are getting set to potentially capture their second consecutive national championship, which is a testament to the work that head coach Jimbo Fisher has done with this program. For his efforts, Fisher could be in line could be in for a pretty big raise.
According to a report from Rivals’ Florida State site Warchant, Fisher and the school are currently in the final stages of negotiations that would make Fisher one of the highest paid coaches in the game of college football.
The deal that Fisher is set to receive would pay him in the area of $5 million per year and keep him in Tallahassee for the foreseeable future.
It is rather crucial that Florida State does all they can to make sure that Jimbo Fisher stays with the program, because his name is brought up with a lot of coaching searches. He’s already expected to be the replacement for Les Miles, should he choose to leave LSU anytime soon. Just last season Fisher’s name came up as the Texas Longhorns were searching for a new coach.
Also, not to mention, with the pro-style offense that he runs, his name is whispered with NFL openings as well.
But it seems as if, for the time being, FSU will be locking up their man soon.
