The San Diego Padres pulled off a big trade this offseason to bring in Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp. Before Padres fans can get too excited, it looks like the deal could be on hold because of some issues that popped up during Kemp’s physical.
Kemp reportedly has arthritis in both hips
That is a huge revelation and one throwing a big wrench into the plans. The Padres are now reportedly deciding whether to go ahead and finalize the deal and give it a go with Kemp or to void it.
The Padres in the Kemp deal are also getting catcher Tim Federowicz and $32 million while the Dodgers get catcher Yasmani Grandal and pitching prospects Joe Wieland and Zach Eflin in return.
According to Matt Kemp’s agent, he thinks the deal will get finalized. What else would you expect an agent to say?
