Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo is on the market and there is no shortage of suitors. On Thursday afternoon, Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Dallas Mavericks have emerged as the front runners to land Rondo, with other teams like the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets also interested in Rondo’s services.
But the Mavericks sit in the driver’s seat which is a nice position to be in, so you’d have to wonder who they were trading to make the deal. The Mavericks already have point guards on their roster like Raymond Felton and Devin Harris, but neither is included in the trade deal as of now according to Wojnarowski.
He says the Mavericks are offering up Brandan Wright, Jae Crowder and a first round pick. Wojnarowski says there could be other players and picks added to the package, and there were reportedly efforts to get a third team involved, but it is interesting it doesn’t initially include a point guard.
