Reprots indicate Boston Celtics PG Rajon Rondo would re-sign with either the Dallas Mavericks or Houston Rockets if traded to either NBA team.

Rajon Rondo is on the trade block and being shopped heavily by the Boston Celtics. He has been rumored in quite a few trade rumors over the past few seasons, and now it appears that the Celtics will move him rather than risk losing him for nothing in free agency this coming offseason.

According to a report from Kurt Helin of Pro Basketball Talk, Rondo would re-sign with either the Dallas Mavericks or Houston Rockets if either team acquired him before the trading deadline.

That information will surely encourage both teams to work harder to acquire Rondo, and could lead to a trade finally coming to fruition.

Dallas appears to be the front-runner to acquire Rondo at this point in time, and Marc Stein has reported that the Celtics would like to acquire Brandan Wright and at least one first round pick for Rondo.

It is an exciting time in the NBA with all of the trade talks spinning around, and it isn’t a normal thing for so many rumors to be swirling already. There are plenty more teams interested in acquiring Rondo from the Celtics as well, and the rumors haven’t even come close to stopping. Boston isn’t going to trade him just to trade him, and will likely hold onto him and allow teams to bid against each other.

Other teams that have shown interest in acquiring Rondo are the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, and Indiana Pacers.

There will likely be more than those three when everything is said and done, but they are the main suitors at this point in time. Danny Ainge appears to have finally made the decision to proceed forward with a Rondo trade, and it will be intriguing to see what they end up getting in return.
