Yes, that really was a piece of the set falling off the wall and smacking into the floor.

Considering the four-letter network sank so much into its new SportsCenter set that is so futuristic it makes the people at NASA cry real tears, you’d think they might have been able to fit enough in the budget for some glue or duct tape for the college basketball guys.

The evidence suggests otherwise.

Ravech handled it like a pro with his quick, “We’re all OK here, folks,” and also had time for a quick Twitter exchange about the incident.

Given how strangely ESPN execs can react to the network’s talents actually talking to people on social media, one almost half-expects some sort of suspension from Twitter for Ravech, but none appeared to be forthcoming.

I mean, after Keith Law got a multi-day shutdown on Twitter because he tried to correct another person on the network payroll that was spouting bad science, it’s obvious that someone in Bristol … or underneath the big mouse ears over at Disney … is a tad bit sensitive about what the network’s on-air people do and say online.
