The Dallas Mavericks showed their commitment to winning this season by going out and trading for Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo. It has the team’s stock as contenders rising immediately and has other potential players becoming more intrigued by the prospect of joining the Mavericks.
For instance, big man Jermaine O’Neal, who lives in Dallas and has always been drawn to the franchise.

O’Neal is currently a free agent and originally said he’d decide on playing and which team to join in early 2015. With the Mavericks trading away Brandan Wright in the deal, their need for a player like O’Neal becomes more pressing.
