The San Francisco 49ers are looking for a young, offensive mind to replace Jim Harbaugh as their next head coach.

Jim Harbaugh’s time with the San Francisco 49ers appears to be coming to an end, and the search for a new head coach is already underway. According to a report from Pro Football Talk, the 49ers are looking to bring in a young, offensive minded coach to be the guy that replaces Harbaugh.

It isn’t surprising that they are looking to bring in more of an offensive minded head coach, as Harbaugh has done a less than stellar job with Colin Kaepernick and the offense this season.

There are two names in particular that have been mentioned as potential candidates for the 49ers, and they both make a lot of sense.

First, New England Patriots’ offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels would be an excellent fit for the 49ers. He would bring a very high-powered offensive attack and is a young coach as well. Not only has he been under Bill Belichick and learned a lot from him, he also had a chance to be the head coach of the Denver Broncos.

Another option would be 36-year-old Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase, who has previously been a hot head coaching candidate.
