The Dallas Cowboys got a big win over the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday, one that moved them from outside the NFC payoff picture to the third seed as the NFC East champions. Their win during that game was in part because of the huge three touchdown performance from wide receiver Dez Bryant.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Friday on 105.3 The Fan [KRLD-FM] that Dez Bryant is stepping up in the biggest of ways, and helping propel the Cowboys towards the playoffs.
“We obviously are seeing the just outstanding contributions he’s making to our success,” Jones said, via the Dallas Morning News. “He’s not only making great plays, he’s making them at the absolute most indispensable time to make them, just right on time, and winning games with those plays.
“Now, that’s how you draw it up, and that’s how you take a great talent and make it do what everybody is supposed to be doing, and that is the team, trying for the championship.
“Yeah, I think we’re seeing more of that. I will say this, when he’s away from the ball, you’re seeing him run better routes, you’re seeing him do some better things. He had a little drop-off a couple games back, I’m talking about his blocking, I’m talking about his discipline on routes away from the ball.”
The Cowboys have another big test when they play the Indianapolis Colts in Week 16, but their post season chances lie in their hands.
