The Dallas Mavericks showed their commitment to winning and chasing an NBA championship by trading for Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo. The Mavericks are wasting no time getting him on the court, announcing that he passed his physicals and is ready to play Saturday night against the San Antonio Spurs.
Rondo said in his introductory press conference that he is ready to go.
“It was very challenging these last couple years,” Rondo said, via the Dallas Morning News. “Each year, you start training camp and all you talk about is winning a championship. And being realistic these last two years, our focus was just making the playoffs.
“To get back to that situation and be able to play with future hall of famers and a great coach and a team that’s ready to contend for a title, I’m fired up. I’m ready to go.”
Whether he knew that would be Saturday night or not, who knows? For Mavericks fans, Saturday night will be interesting and a lot of fun.
