The Purdue Boilermakers and Notre Dame Fighting Irish squared off this past weekend at the Crossroads Classic in Indianapolis, and the Irish were able to pull out a win. It was close throughout the first half, but the rest of the game was fairly ugly and it showed that Notre Dame was the much better team.
Poster dunks are the highlight of every game that has one, and that was the case for 6’1″ Notre Dame guard Demetrius Jackson. Purdue has two seven-foot big men on their roster, and unfortunately for Isaac Haas, he was the one that got dunked on.
Take a look at the dunk that Jackson threw down against Purdue, and also take a look at the Vince Carter dunk from back in the 2000 Olympics.
Obviously the Carter dunk was much better due to jumping over the defender, but Jackson’s dunk was impressive as well going through the much bigger defender. While dunking on a 7’2″ player is impressive, it still isn’t as impressive as dunking over a 7’2″ player. Either way, these types of highlights are always fun to watch.
