Cam Newton was not happy with some of the Panthers fans’ response to when Johnny Manziel went down with a hamstring injury.

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was not at all happy with the response of some fans in Charlotte on Sunday that were rather delighted to see Browns rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel have to leave the game with a hamstring injury.

Manziel injured his hamstring in the first half of the Panthers’ 17-13 win and there were some Panthers fans that could be heard cheering the occurrence. After the game when asked about it by the media, Newton was not proud at all of his fans that were cheering what had happened.

Newton certainly has a point in this case. Sure, Manziel is one of the more polarizing players in the game of football that is hated by many, but under no circumstances do you ever cheer the injury of a player. Fans in the stands never know how serious an injury really could be, so you just hope for the best, no matter who it is or who they play for.

Next weekend Newton and the Panthers will take on the Atlanta Falcons with the NFC South title and a trip to the playoffs on the line.
