Week 16 is championship week for most fantasy football leagues which makes this week’s performance one of the most important of the season for fantasy football owners.  It’s time for players to come up big and help bring home the title. The players in this post have done just that. Here are the week 16 scoring leaders so far including all the 1:00 starts and the Thursday and Saturday games:

Ryan Tannehill-QB-Miami Dolphins

Tannehill came up huge in championship week throwing for four touchdowns in the Dolphins comeback win over the Vikings. He threw for a season-high 396 yards and did throw one interception but still scored more points than any other player in week 16 to this point (29 in standard scoring)

Colin Kaepernick-QB-San Francisco 49ers

Kap and the 49ers blew the game against the Chargers, but his overall scoring was still solid for fantasy owners.  He threw for only 114 yards and a touchdown but added 151 yards on the ground while adding a second touchdown rushing.

Philip Rivers-QB-San Diego Chargers

Rivers started poorly and threw three interceptions against the 49ers, but he bounced back and threw for four touchdowns and 356 yards against the 49ers as the Chargers stormed back and got a great win on Saturday night.

Cam Newton-QB-Carolina Panthers

Newton led the Panthers to a tough win against the Browns throwing for 201 yards and a touchdown.  He added a second touchdown on the ground running for 63 yards on his 12 carries.

Antonio Gates-TE-San Diego Chargers

Gates was the main target for Rivers in the Chargers comeback catching seven passes for 92 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He had an up and down season, but overall put together a solid season despite being left for washed up at the beginning of the season.

Frank Gore-RB-San Francisco 49ers

Gore had struggled leading up to this week, but he came through for those owners who stuck with him.  He totaled 158 yards on his 26 carries and got into the end zone in the 49ers loss to San Diego.

Matt Asiata-RB-Minnesota Vikings

Asiata ran for a pair of scores in the Vikings loss to Miami totaling 58 yards on his 16 carries.  He added 19 yards on three catches serving as a dual-threat as the only Vikings back left standing for the last game of the regular season.

Lamar Miller-RB-Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins running back had 150 total yards in their comeback win over the Vikings turning in one of his best performances of the season.  He ran for 92 yards and a touchdown on the ground and added 58 yards on five catches.

Randy Bullock-K-Houston Texans

Normally, kickers don’t make our scoring leaders, but this week the Texans kicker made six field goals totaling 19 points against the Ravens in Houston’s surprising upset.

Jonathan Stewart-RB-Carolina Panthers

Stewart ran for 122 yards but didn’t get into the end zone on his 24 carries.  Fortunately for him and his owners, one of his two receptions resulted in a touchdown even though he only added seven yards receiving. His 129 total yards were still enough to get him into our Week 16 scoring leaders.
