Jameis Winston’s adviser hinted on Sunday that the Florida State quarterback will be cleared in his code of conduct hearing.
A few weeks ago Florida State Seminoles quarterback Jameis Winston underwent a code of conduct hearing with the university in relation to his sexual assault allegations. Now it seems that a verdict could be coming very shortly, and Winston will be in the clear.
Winston’s highly-public adviser, David Cornwell, sent out this tweet on Sunday that alludes to the notion that Winston will not be charged with anything discussed during the duration of the hearing.
A decision on the matter was not expected until some time in January, some time after the national championship game will be played, which is why some believe the hearing made no sense in the first place.
Would Winston have been convicted of anything in relation to the student code of conduct at Florida State, he would have been booted from the school. However, given the fact that Winston is more or less headed to the NFL after the season is over, a ruling to kick him out really would not have mattered anyway.
Winston and the Florida State Seminoles will take on the Oregon Ducks in the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day as part of the inaugural College Football Playoff.
