Xavier Rhodes had good coverage. Ryan Tannehill made a better throw. And Mike Wallace was just ridiculous on a Miami Dolphins touchdown on Sunday.
Trailing 17-7 in the third quarter, the Miami Dolphins needed to cash in on a long drive into Minnesota Vikings’ territory.
With a second-and-goal at the Vikings’ 16, Miami quarterback Ryan Tannehill looked to the left sideline for wide receiver Mike Wallace, who was covered by Minnesota cornerback Xavier Rhodes.
Everybody did their job. Someone did theirs better:
Wallace’s ability to come back for the ball, turn and get into the end zone without (a) stepping on the sideline, (b) dropping the ball and (c) pulling every muscle in his core is fairly remarkable.

That brought the Dolphins back to within 17-14 in a game they have to have to maintain even the most remote of playoff chances.
Miami came in at 7-7, two games behind second wild-card spot. Yes, the Dolphins could still make the postseason, but it would take a whole bunch of things going right for them.
Wallace’s touchdown was his ninth of the season and was Tannehill’s second of the game and 24th of the year, tying the career high he set last season.
The Dolphins jumped into the lead early in the fourth quarter on a Lamar Miller touchdown run to go up 21-17.
