The Brooklyn Nets and Sacramento Kings are reportedly discussing a trade that would center around star point guard Deron Williams and shake up the NBA landscape this season.
Say this for the Sacramento Kings: they are looking to shake things up this season. After a hot start they fired their head coach, and now they are looking at a potential blockbuster trade for Brooklyn Nets’ point guard Deron Williams.

How well Williams would fit in the Kings’ system is another question, but it would certainly be a move to land a big name for a franchise that clearly sees itself as on the rise.
Adrian Wojnarowksi reports the following about the trade talks:
"The Nets have been shopping their high-priced star players, and the Kings have been probing the market for an impact point guard. No deal is imminent, but the talks are ongoing, sources told Yahoo Sports. The talks have centered on sending the Nets point guard Darren Collison and forwards Derrick Williams and Jason Thompson as part of a multi-player package for Williams, league sources said."
Wojnarowski also notes that the Kings are trying to pry Mason Plumlee away from the Nets as well, something that currently stands as a hurdle to a potential deal or the fact that the talks have not advanced to serious stages.
Williams is averaging 15.6 points, 6.8 assists, and 3.1 rebounds per game so far this season. The University of Illinois product would bring excitement and a proven resume to a Kings’ team that is finally starting to find its footing this season.
