New York Giants Pull Ahead In Tense Game Against St. Louis Rams
The New York Giants pull off a questionable, chippy win over the St. Louis Rams Sunday night
If you weren’t watching, this might be a football game you should check out the highlights for.
The New York Giants triumphed in a 37-27 victory over the St. Louis Rams at the Edward Jones Dome in Missouri this Sunday, but it wasn’t a victory easily won — in the first half alone, the Giants were awarded a whopping 109 penalty yards. If that doesn’t reflect the atmosphere on the field, there’s not much that can.

Both teams were awarded a number of penalties for rash plays, then more penalties for retaliatory scrums; from a late hit on Odell Beckham, Jr to a an impressive donkey kick from New York’s Josh Brown, both sides were equally to blame in the deterioration of the game as the evening wore on.
Although the Giants started out the stronger franchise, offensive production fell off as the game progressed just enough to allow the Rams to come within a ten point margin of the Giants; with this win, Eli Manning and his team advanced to a 6-9 record on the season, while the Rams fell to match them identically with a 6-9 record of their own.
While the Rams clearly had some catching up to do following a dismal first quarter, the four ejections that occurred throughout the game did little to give St. Louis the advantage. Even with the impressive ‘leap-frog’ interception Auburn alumn Will Herring pulled off for St. Louis, they were unable to do anything about the final outcome of what might have been one of the more jaw-droppingly sloppy games played in the NFL this season.
