The Kansas City Chiefs are not completely out of the postseason hunt in the AFC, but they’re going to need some major help.

With Week 16 of the NFL regular season wrapping up this Sunday and Monday night, the playoff pictures are beginning to take shape. In the AFC, the Kansas City Chiefs are still in the hunt for a spot, although they need a few things to happen, especially after Sunday.

Sunday afternoon the Chiefs went out to Pittsburgh and were defeated by the Steelers, making things a little more difficult for them next weekend to secure their spot in the postseason.

So, how can the Chiefs get themselves into the postseason?

Next weekend at home in Arrowhead Stadium the Chiefs will be taking on the San Diego Chargers in the regular season finale. That game, yeah, they have to win that one, no ifs, ands or buts. A loss to the Chargers means that they’re out.

However, should they win that game, they still need some assistance. A win by either the Browns, Jaguars or Patriots –who are playing the Ravens, Texans and Bills respectively– will knock the Chiefs out of the hunt, even if they come away with the win over the Chargers at home.

It won’t be easy and nothing will be guaranteed, but the Chiefs are not dead yet.
