The San Diego Chargers are sitting pretty in the AFC Playoff picture, as they need to simply win and they’re in no matter what happens around them.

With all the AFC Playoff drama going on at the moment, the San Diego Chargers are sitting the prettiest of all. Baltimore, Kansas City and Houston all need help to make the postseason this year but the Chargers just need to win their final game against the Chiefs to make it in to the postseason.

That’s a lot easier said than done though, as the Chiefs need help to make the postseason but they’re not done yet. San Diego needs a win on Sunday to make the playoffs and a loss means that they’re out of the postseason altogether. That’s not a situation any fan in San Diego wants to imagine but it’s something that is still on the table with the Chiefs fighting and clawing for the final Wild Card slot in the AFC.

The San Diego Chargers will make the playoffs this year if:

  • Chargers win

Any other outcome, regardless of who else loses, will result in the Chargers missing the playoffs with the Chiefs taking their place. It’s a delicate situation still, but it makes this Sunday’s game against the Chiefs a de facto playoff game for a hard fighting Chargers team.
