The Seattle Seahawks were needed a win on Sunday night to clinch a spot in the NFC playoffs, and they managed to clinch while they were still warming up.
With just one week left in the NFL season, the spots in the NFL Playoffs are starting to dry up with just a few left and only three divisions not yet clinched.

This weekend, the Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys all clinched NFC Playoff spots and thanks to a late afternoon blowout win by the Cowboys, the Seattle Seahawks punched their ticket to playoffs. Seattle’s work is far from over though, but the team has done something special in getting back to the postseason to defend their Super Bowl crown.
It’s the first time since the 2011 Green Bay Packers made it to the postseason that a Super Bowl winning team made it back to the playoffs the year after they won the Lombardi Trophy.
Seattle still has a chance to win the NFC West though, as they’ve merely clinched a berth in the postseason. Their game against the Arizona Cardinals is going to help decide that, as the Seahawks control their own destiny to the No. 1 seed in the NFC. It would be a huge feat, but the Seahawks have their playoff fate in their own hands, and they’ve done the bare minimum they need to do to ensure they can properly defend their Super Bowl crown.
