Shaun Suisham booted a short field goal to put the Pittsburgh Steelers comfortably ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs. Then things got chippy.

The Pittsburgh Steelers took a two-score lead, 20-9, on Shaun Suisham’s 23-yard field goal with 4:04 to go in regulation.

Pittsburgh clinched a playoff spot with a win and would improve to 10-5. The Kansas City Chiefs would go to 8-7 with a loss and would be eliminated from contention.

So the stakes are high and the tempers are a little short, as a little fracus broke out after the kick:

Only one penalty came out of all of that, an unnecessary roughness call against Steelers’ offensive lineman Ramon Foster that left the Steelers to kick off from their own 20-yard line.

The Chiefs will need a touchdown, a two-point conversion and a field goal to forge a tie—which would really be something considering they scored nine points in the first 56 minutes of the game.

Kansas City took the ensuing possession and took a 23-yard field goal from Cairo Santos, his fourth of the game, to get back to within one score at 20-12, but will need an onside kick and a quick score to keep their season alive.

A Steelers win would put them in the playoffs for the first time since 2011. They were 8-8 and home for January each of the last two seasons.
