Gus Andreone of Sarasota, Florida set a world record on Wednesday after the 103-year-old hit a hold-in-one at Palm Aire Country Club last week. Andreone used his driver on the 114-yard par-3 to set the record previously held by a 102-year-old woman in 2007.

Andreone used the same approach he has used many times on this hole and as the ball hit the ground about 30 feet from the cup and rolled into the hole, he played it cool like a boss as opposed to his party who were jumping up and down, according to the New York Times.

As impressive as it is to hit a hole-in-one, it’s even more remarkable to achieve this rarity at his advanced age. But what’s also incredible is that Andreone has a habit of hitting aces as this recent one was his eighth since 1939. He has eight holes-in-one and I can barely get one when I play miniature golf!

“I can’t say that I felt any different about one or the other,” Abdreibe told the New York Times. “I just felt another hole in one.”

Andreone told the Times he plays three times a week and plans to do so as long as he’s physically able, telling the Times, “As long as I can swing a club, even if I have to play three or four holes, I’m going to play golf.”

Kudos to you Mr. Andreone, you inspire all of us to keep doing what we’re passionate about and to keep striving for perfection, on and off the golf course. And for those like me who haven’t come close to an ace, you give us hope that it will happen for us someday.
