Butch Jones is laying the foundation for successful rebuild of the Tennessee football program and has the Volunteers in a bowl game in his second season. His success off the field as one of the top recruiters in the nation has given a great deal of optimism for the Vol faithful as his on-field product continues to improve.
Jones showed why he’s got players wanting to play for him and his program in a touching gesture made to walk-on tight end Alex Ellis who received the greatest Christmas he’s likely ever received on Monday.
The redshirt junior tight end was called down to receive a gift for participating in the TaxSlayer Bowl against Iowa on Jan. 2 and when he opened it up he found out his education was being paid for and the rest of the team and coaching staff erupted with applause that should give you chills.

The 6-4, 238-pound tight end from Del Mar, Del got a gift that will keep on giving, just like a membership to the jelly of the month club.
