Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel has been ruled out for Week 17 with the hamstring injury suffered in Week 16
It appears Johnny Manziel’s rookie season is over about one-fifteenth as fast as it started.
According to Scott Petrak of the Chronicle-Telegram, Browns coach Mike Pettine said Manziel’s hamstring injury is a “several-week injury.” The details were posted to Petrak’s twitter account:
#Browns Pettine said Manziel hamstring injury pretty significant. "Several-week injury."

Manziel suffered a hamstring injury on a hit by Colin Jones in Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers and was forced to leave the game in the first half. After the hit, Manziel got up and headed back to the huddle before he fell down and trainers came on the field to assist him.
Before the injury, Manziel had completed 3-of-8 passes for 32 yards.
Manziel finished the season with fairly pedestrain numbers, at least in relation to the hype surrounding him. On the year, Manziel was 18-0f-35 for 143 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions. He also scored a rushing touchdown in Week 14 after he replaced the struggling Brian Hoyer against the Buffalo Bills.
The Browns have not named the starting quarterback for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens, but there has been rumors and speculation that the former South Carolina quarterback Connor Shaw will get the start for the Browns.
