Cam Newton

Even though Cam Newton was in a serious car accident just two weeks ago, the Carolina Panthers were in need of a victory to keep their playoff hopes alive. Before the game against the Cleveland Browns, Newton was given a cortisone shot, which is much similar to the one Tony Romo is given before every game. The Panthers were able to defeat the Browns and the main reason why was because of Newton’s ability to scramble out of the pocket.

As you would guess, Newton wasn’t perfect, but he got the job done when it counted. Newton completed 18 passes out of 31 attempts for just over 200 yards and a touchdown. Newton threw an interception and he also ran the football 12 times for 63 yards and a touchdown. All season long, people have questioned Newton’s ability to perform as an NFL quarterback, but the reality is that there isn’t a lot of talent around him. Regardless, the Panthers lived to fight another day in the NFC South division race and Newton was a big reason why.
