Losers: Buffalo Bills

They had their shot. They had a shot to make the playoffs, or at least be relevant heading into Week 17. Did they need help? Sure, but they needed a win first.

Instead they lost to the Oakland Raiders, which may not be as brutal as it was earlier in the season, but is still a season-ending disappointment.

Maybe they can mess with the New England Patriots’ bid for home field with an upset next week, but that’s cold comfort. Especially for a team which seems to have no real quarterback plan right now. Maybe EJ Manuel will improve enough this offseason to where they can give him another shot, but it doesn’t look great right now. And we know Kyle Orton isn’t the answer.

They’re also far enough away from the top of the draft to think they will not see one of the top quarterbacks (at least as they stand now).

It’s going to be a long, cold offseason for Buffalo.
