By Robby Sabo
After all reports signified Jim Harbaugh staying put in the NFL, it now seems very likely he could be heading east to Michigan
Perhaps losing four in a row, including blowing a 21-point lead to the San Diego Chargers will create a sudden change of heart for a man. It’s sure looking that way for San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh right now.

Adam Schefter of ESPN revealed some information today on NFL Insiders which has the Michigan fateful jumping for absolute joy right now.
"“The pendulum has shifted to Michigan and [Harbaugh] going back to college,” said Schefter."
Obviously some fantastic news for Michigan, who has taken its sweet time since firing Brady Hoke nearly three weeks ago. Names speculated for the mega job included Les Miles, Sean Payton and even Jason Garret, but Harbaugh has always remained that one shiny toy Michigan craves oh so much.
There’s no secret how Michigan operates. They feel they deserve the best and carry and air about themselves as if nobody can touch them, much to MC Hammer’s dismay. Sometimes this arrogance has even got in the way of hiring coaches in the past.
Now, it seems they’re not afraid of rejection anymore, and the leaked specifics about Harbaugh’s offered deal proves just that.
In this case the problem has been in Harbaugh’s camp, as nobody knows what he wants.
Most, including Schefter, thought his heart was in the NFL. Why not, considering he’s led his team to three straight NFC Championship games and a Super Bowl appearance in his first three seasons as coach. Due to his competitive nature, getting so close to that Lombardi Trophy without tasting it has to have him nuts.
Everybody thought that was the case, until today. Regardless of the report though, Harbaugh isn’t letting anybody in on any secrets.
"“As you know, I’ve not participated in any of the speculation, the unnamed sources, the rumors,” Harbaugh told reporters on Monday. “What will happen will happen, and what won’t, won’t.”"
For now, the entire football world will have to wait until the time is right.
Barring a minor miracle, Harbaugh will wrap up is 49ers coaching career against the playoff bound Arizona Cardinals in Week 17.
