Seattle Seahawks Want To Have ‘Best Defense Ever’
By Cory Buck
As the Seattle Seahawks hit their peak, defensive lineman Michael Bennett said they want to have the best defense ever.
The Seattle Seahawks once again appear to be the most stacked team in the NFL. A resounding Sunday night victory over the Arizona Cardinals stood as their eighth win in their last nine games and put the team firmly in control of the NFC West.

But that’s not enough for the defending Super Bowl champions. Defensive lineman Michael Bennett has a different goal altogether — other than the whole ‘repeat as champions’ thing, of course. Try best defense ever to go along with the rest.
“You look at our goals and some teams would be like ‘that’s not possible,’ ’’ Bennett said, per the Seattle Times. “But that’s how we feel, to go out there and try to be the best defense of all time.’’
There are few defensive performances that can outweigh the last five games for Seattle. They’ve allowed 33 points total during that stretch while holding their opponent to seven points or fewer in four of those games, all of which came against division opponents.
Of course, the Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers don’t sport the kind of offenses Seattle will find in the playoffs. For now, the team just has to focus on finishing business with a win in Week 17 to clinch the division title. From there, the team can find a tougher test for this vaunted defense.
